Frodo, un hobbit, mosteneste un inel cu puteri extraordinare de la unchiul sau, Bilbo Baggins. Dar Inelul are si o putere malefica asupra celui ce-l detine, asa ca Frodo trebuie sa plece intr-o calatorie de-a lungul Pamantului de Mijloc si sa arunce Inelul in “Muntele Blestemat”, singurul loc unde acesta poate fi distrus.
